Tissue Fillers

Tissue fillers provide a non-surgical option to reduce the appearance of aging. They're most often used on the lower face, around the nose, mouth and chin. Dr. Yearsley and/or Master Esthetician, Bree Robertson, will consult with you to determine the filler that best meets your needs.

Juvederm XC
Young skin contains an abundance of hyaluronic acid (HA). The HA molecules act like sponges, binding to and absorbing water. The internal moisture provided by HA keeps skin supple and hydrated, providing the appearance of fullness. As we age, our skin loses HA, which causes it to lose moisture and volume from within. The results can be seen in wrinkles and folds, particularly the nasolabial folds, or the "parentheses" around the nose and mouth. As these folds deepen, they "pull down" your face, resulting in an appearance that's not only older, but tired as well.

Juvederm XC helps to replace your skin's HA, smoothing away wrinkles and folds by restoring youthful volume. Juvederm XC is an injectable gel that works below the surface of your skin, in the connective tissues that provide the outer layer of skin with its support network. It's most often used around the nose, mouth and chin. You'll see results instantly, and the effects last up to one year.

Restylane
Restylane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid which is specifically formulated to act like your body's own HA. When injected into areas that have lost their fullness, it adds volume and smooths out wrinkles and folds. It's typically used to treat areas such as the "laugh lines" from your nose to the corners of your mouth, the "lipstick lines" above your upper lip, lines at the corners of your mouth, and the "marionette" lines from your lips to your jawline.

You'll see the results immediately, with skin that's fuller and smoother. Folds and lines are diminished, restoring a supple, youthful appearance. While the results vary, typical patients see results for months or even years. In a clinical study of Restylane treatment of laugh lines, at least 95% of patients who returned for a follow-up treatment in 4 to 5 months continued to see results for up to 18 months after initial treatment.

Perlane
Perlane is part of the Restylane family of products. Like Restylane, it's a gel formulation of hyaluronic acid. In Perlane, the gel particles are larger, making the formulation a good choice for areas that benefit from an injection that goes deeper into the skin. In three clinical studies, 70 percent of patients maintained their improved appearance for six months after just one treatment.

Radiesse
Radiesse is a biocompatible, non-allergenic filler composed of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. After injection, the microspheres will become surrounded by thin connective tissue, providing long-lasting volume at the injection site. Radiesse restores youthful fullness and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and folds around the nose, mouth and chin. It can also be used to minimize the appearance of certain types of scars.

Most Radiesse candidates are between the ages of 35 and 60. As with any filler, the number of injections needed will vary depending on the patient's needs and the number of injection sites. The procedure takes only a few minutes. The initial results are visible immediately, with full results appearing gradually over the course of a week. The results can last one to two years or more, with some patients requiring small touch-ups during this timeframe.

Artefill
Artefill is a long-lasting filler that contains both collagen and unique patented microspheres. As with other fillers, Artefill replaces the collagen that your skin loses with age, resulting in an appearance that's fuller and more youthful. The microspheres provide a support network for the collagen. As a natural substance, the collagen will eventually be reabsorbed by your system. The microspheres, however, are not absorbable, so the support structure remains in place as the microspheres stimulate your body to produce its own collagen. This dual action means that Artefill's collagen provides results immediately, while its microspheres and your own regenerating collagen maintain those results over the long term.
