Think of how important your hands are to everything you do every day. Loss of function, through accident, injury or disease, can have a devastating effect on every part of a patient's life. Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) have extensive and highly specialized training in rehabilitation of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder girdle. The anatomy of these parts of the body is intricate, complex and interconnected. CHTs have completed rigorous courses of advanced study and clinical training to achieve certification, and are required to demonstrate continued professional development and knowledge of the latest techniques by re-certifying every five years.
Annie McKittrick Crary, OTR/L, CHT, has nearly a decade of clinical experience exclusively in hand therapy and treatment of the upper extremity. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mary with a Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy in 2000. She then completed a rigorous hand therapy fellowship at the Texas Woman's University, Houston Medical Center, and achieved CHT certification in 2005. Annie is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy with a hand therapy emphasis from the University of Mary, where she has also served as adjunct professor in the occupational therapy department for the past eight years.
Annie is dedicated to providing the maximum mobility, usability and functionality that's possible for each individual. In addition to her outstanding medical credentials, she brings compassion, excellent communications skills and a gentle therapeutic touch to ensure the best outcome for each patient.
