Ear Reshaping & Pinning (Otoplasty)
This is one of the few elective cosmetic procedures that is often performed on children as well as adults. Prominent ears are pulled into a position that lies more smoothly around the head. The incision is placed behind the ear, out of sight. The procedure can be performed on children as young as five.
For women who have pierced ears and wear heavy earrings, the lobes may pull or tear. The pulled or torn earlobes can be repaired, usually in the office under a local anesthetic.
